Many times, we at NCF are asked by givers how they can
be certain that NCF will be the same Christ-centered
organization 25 years from now that it is today. This question is important because so many have included NCF as a beneficiary in their wills, trusts, insurance policies, and retirement plans.

One answer is the character, mission, and stability of NCF’s Board of Directors. The following guidelines help ensure the continuity and strength of NCF’s Board for years to come:

• Consistency in Beliefs – Every year, all Board members must reaffirm NCF’s statement of faith.
   
• Small in size – Keeping the Board small (five active members) protects against the addition of future members that do not share our ideals. 
   
• Members for life – Though each member is elected annually, there is an expectation they will serve for life.
   
• Handpicked selections – The current board has identified a list of highly-qualified prospective future members. 
   
• Active donors – Each person has been a long-time participant in NCF’s ministry because they have personally chosen to give through NCF.
   
• Experts in key subjects – Each member brings valuable expertise and experience to the process of governing a large, financially oriented non-profit..
   

NCF’s Board members know they are charged with a great responsibility. Their goal is to make certain every dollar that comes to NCF is ultimately distributed according to our
Christian mission and the desires of the givers we serve.

NCF's Board of Directors

	Terry Parker founded NCF in 1982 with Ron Blue and Larry Burkett.  Terry is active in the Christian philanthropic community, serving or having served on numerous non-profit Boards, including Crown Ministries, Christian Legal Society, The Gathering, and Family Research Council.  He lectures at no charge throughout the country on behalf of the ministries served by The National Christian Foundation on issues involving donor-advised funds, private foundations, supporting organizations, the transition of wealth from one generation to the next, and the tax and spiritual issues involved in charitable giving. A well-respected name in the world of giving, his expertise and 39 years of experience in wills, trusts, estates and tax-exempt organizations have made him a sought after counselor. Terry retired from the law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rice, PLLC, in 2004 to devote himself full-time to NCF.  His law degrees include a Master of Law in Taxation and a Doctor of Law.  He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts. In addition to being admitted to the practice of law before all Georgia state courts, the United States District Court, the United States Court of Appeals, the United States Tax Court, he is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. His military service includes the JAG Corps of the United States Navy.  Terry and his wife, Paula, reside in Atlanta, Georgia and have three children and six grandchildren.
	Jess T. Correll Jess Correll is a founding member and has served as president and chairman of First Southern Bancorp since 1987. He is chairman of the board and CEO of UTG Inc., and also serves on the boards of Crown Financial Ministries, Generous Giving and Friends of Good Samaritans in India. He is married to Angela Correll and has three children Adrienne, Preston, and Leigh.
	Sandra Johnson is one of the board's connections to the world of private foundations. She is a founding board member of The Sandra and William B. Johnson Foundation and The Bill and Sandra Johnson Scholarship Foundation. Sandra and her husband, Bill, are members of The Church of the Apostles, where she serves on the board of Leading the Way, Michael Youssef's international radio ministry. She is a Trustee of Agnes Scott College. She also serves on the advisory board of Sandell Ministries. Mrs. Johnson is a member of the Christian Women's Club, a former active and present sustaining member of the Junior League of DeKalb County, GA. and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. In addition to running her own interior design company, Sandra has for years been a strong and uncompromising believer in the Biblical principles upon which NCF is built.
	Jim Blankemeyer is a successful entrepreneur and ministry leader. In 1969, he founded MetoKote Corporation, an innovator in the application of high-quality industrial coatings. He continues to serve as chairman of MetoKote, now the largest company of its kind, with 30 plants in eight countries. Since committing his life to Jesus Christ in 1976, Jim has been active in many ministries and serves on numerous boards, traveling extensively around the world. In 1988, Jim and Carolyn, his wife, started their own family foundation to teach their children Biblical principles of responsible stewardship over God's resources of time, talents, relationships and money in the ministry of furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
	Phil Drake is Founder and Chairman of Drake Enterprises, a group of 18 businesses based in Western North Carolina. The Enterprise group provides jobs to more than 450 individuals, making it one of the largest employers in the area. The company strives to demonstrate that Biblical principles apply to every walk of life (including business decisions). Phil is also the Chief Technical Advisor to Drake Software, the flagship company of Drake Enterprises. He began developing tax preparation software in 1977. In 1985, Drake Software was one of the first companies to electronically file tax returns. In 2004, the company won the IRS Modernized e-file Pioneer Award for its efforts. Drake Software also does work for Crown Financial Ministries (developing and maintaining "Crown Money Map" software, and "Career Direct On-line"). Phil and Sharon, his wife of 33 years, live in Franklin, North Carolina, near their children and grandchildren.

Larry Burkett, NCF Co-Founder and Board Member (1939 - 2003)
NCF was co-founded by Larry Burkett, a pioneer in the teaching of Christian financial stewardship principles.  Larry served on NCF's board of directors until his death in July, 2003.  In 1976, Larry formed Christian Financial Concepts (CFC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching the biblical principles of handling money.  In September 2000, CFC merged with Crown Ministries, creating a new organization, Crown Financial Ministries.  Larry published more than 70 books, sales of which now exceed 11 million copies and include several national best-sellers. The four radio programs, "Money Matters, " "How to Manage Your Money, " "MoneyWatch, " and "A Money Minute, " are carried on more than 1,100 radio outlets worldwide.  Prior to his death, Larry founded the Larry Burkett Cancer Research Foundation.
